Make your own pillows!

I made some pillows the other day, so I thought I would share how cute they turned out.

Making your own pillows is MUCH cheaper than buying them. Plus, I change my pillows quite a bit because of my decorating addiction, so I simply recover the other pillows that I already have.

If you need instructions on How to make your own pillows, go to our previous post found HERE!

Love the striped one. And I’m diggin’ the zebra!

Here they are in my room. šŸ™‚

Do you like them?

  1. The pillows look beautiful! And I admire anyone who can spend hours gluing beans on styrofoam to make a gorgeous wreath—I don't have that kind of patience.
Your furniture re-dos look terrific too! Don't you love the DI? The best place for cheap furniture and decor!
Your blog is wonderful! Keep up the great posts.

  2. I have only one bit of advice for you…take off the word verification on your comments. I've read several tips that say most readers hate having to type those silly words.

  3. I recently stumbled upon your blog. I am scared of all things crafty and decorating, yes scared.
Although I am tempted to make some pillows. Any advise on colors? I just posted pics of my house yesterday and have only decorated one room. The front room, and it needs pillows, but I don't know what color to add.

  4. I love them! I was actually looking at your pillow tutorial last night trying to gear myself up for a revamp. Then I saw your post today and knew I had to get to the fabric store. Thanks for the inspiration!

  5. How did you know I just got fabric to make some pillows for my front room?? I got on here to find your pillow making tutorial & you had it posted for ME! (RIGHT?? It was just for ME, right??) haha Your pillows look fantastic!! I hope mine turn out that good!!

I LOVE your lima bean wreath! I saw the acorn wreath on MADE, too & thought it was SOO lovely!! I might have to try this myself. I'm glad you were able to fix it when you dropped it! I would have ALMOST sworn, too!

  6. I saw this post yesterday and have been wanting to get into making my own pillows. But, I'm too cheap to go buy pillow forms and I don't really have any pillows to start with. So today I went to DI and found that they have decor pillows for $1-2!! I can totally do that. Then again, maybe pillow forms are that cheap to begin with…

Also, I scored on this amazing mirror today for $10. I painted the frame a beautiful brick red and now I need to figure out how to put it up. I saw yours that's similar that you painted teal and put on a dresser. My question for you is how do you have it secured so it won't fall? Did you just set it on top of the dresser, or do you actually have it secured to the wall?

  7. Finally someone else is just as obsessed with pillows as I am. Everytime someone comes to our apartment they always comment on all our pillows. šŸ™‚ I really like the zebra print pillows you made. Very cute. I have yet to make my own covers for pillows which is probably a good thing.

  8. Love the pillows!! I’ve wanted to make my own, but have been really nervous about it attempting it. Thanks for the encouragement. Your pillows are so fun!!
