Refinishing a few chairs with Houndstooth!

I’ve been digging houndstooth fabric lately. I did a quick search to show you a few fun things that inspired this obsession:

Ok. Now that I’ve shown some evidence as to why I am lovin’ this pattern. Check out my new chairs!

(counter height high back) I love the red. šŸ™‚
This rocking chair is sweet. I just finished it last night, and I couldn’t wait to reveal it’s beauty!

Both of these items are for sale. (E-mail allthingsthrifty@gmail.com for more information).

I would like to keep them, but I ALWAYS want to keep ALL the projects that I complete. šŸ™‚ That’s my problem lately. I buy stuff to sell and make some mula, and I can’t say goodbye to them. I just have to remember…I can’t keep EVERYTHING, AND keeping EVERYTHING is NOT thrifty. (My husband is going to be so proud of me for actually putting these up for sale…no kidding).

Here are the before pictures:

Do you like how they turned out?

  1. Wow. Those are some hot chairs! The red is really quite striking and I really like the lines on the rocker. The hounds tooth is a perfect choice.

  2. I too have become a houndstooth lover! My Grandma got me a scarf for Christmas and I found some rain boots with the same print. Now I just need some earmuffs and gloves šŸ™‚

  3. I am always amazed at how you completely transform old pieces of furniture. The rocker is so stunning and that barstool, wow! Nice work!

  4. Brooke I love how those both turned out! I was talking to Bean today and we decided we need a girls day in Vegas so we can find good "thrifty" material for all the projects you've inspired us to do! Oh, and I'm redecorating my living room, so I'll be checking your blog for inspiration!

  5. LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT ROCKER!!! IT FREAKING ROCKS!!! HOUNDSTOOTH OH HOUNDSTOOTH! DAN: K BROOKE GIVE ME ALL YOUR ATTENTION!!! THAT was a FUUUUNY conversation wasnt it? HA! HA! HA!
