Mary Jane Confetti fabric at JoAnn’s

Every day I get emails from readers with questions. Sometimes the questions are about painting, redoing furniture, reupholstering, or other topics. One of my most frequently asked questions is about this fabric.

I surprised myself that I have never posted the answer on the site. I guess it just slipped through the cracks because I thought I had, and hopefully you get the feeling that I am not trying to withhold ANY information about the projects that I do. I honestly try hard to give you all the information that you need so that you can do the projects yourself.

So, today I am answering the mystery question, “What is the name of the fabric on your wing-back chair?” If you missed the post about the double wing-back chair, you can check it out HERE.

First of all, most questions about the fabric discuss how you have searched and searched for it on JoAnn’s website. STOP. Right. Now. I searched for it on their site for three hours. They do not carry it online.

It is called Mary Jane Confetti. They carry it in their stores only. It is located in their canvas home decor section, and it costs $9.99 a yard. I used a 40% off coupon when I bought it so I got it for $5.99 a yard.

I loved the fabric because
1. It has EVERY color imaginable.
2. The colors in the fabric is BRIGHT.
3. It is canvas…love canvas.
4. It was fairly inexpensive.
5. It has turquoise and orange in it. That was the kicker for me. I wanted a fabric to help tie together my color scheme, and introduce a few other colors. It was perfect for that.

Have you done a project with this fabric? I know a LOT of you have because I have received e-mails telling me that you found it. I have even seen curtains made from them when I went into one of your houses. I want to see the projects! E-mail them to me at allthingsthrifty at gmail dot com.

  1. I just recently found your blog! I am in LoVe! You are amazing! We are in the process of buying a house, I told my husband I wanted to hire you to decorate for us… I've had this fabric for awhile, I bought it to cover a big canvas piece to hang on a dark gray wall to bring some color in the room, I would email you a picture, however, it is still in process. I guess I shouldn't wait for the hubs to help šŸ™‚ You also inspired me to start shopping at thift stores, I went to one this morning and found an amazing bench but it was $50! So I'm waiting and hoping it will still be there come saturday when everything is 50% off!

  2. Brooke, you do amazing things with fabric. I would have never thought you could put such a bright, bold color in the kitchen, but seeing what you've done with it is fabulous! I LOVE your style — thanks for sharing.

  3. I just was web shopping on anthropologie and they have a sofa (Battersea Sofette, Bloom) That looks a lot like yours! Thought you'd like to see it since yours was a huge bargan (theirs was $2,998.00)

  4. Thank you Thank you! I have spent so much time looking for this fabric online because it's so perfect for a wing chair I want to recover…hope mine turns out as great as yours! šŸ™‚
    Thanks for the inspiration!

  5. Funny, seriously. I wish I had read this post earlier. I searched and searched JoAnn's web site for this very fabric and couldn't find it, gave up and ordered one like it but navy blue background. i think I may have to go to the actual store and use the one I ordered for something else because this fabric that is on your wing back makes my heart flutter and the one I ordered only make my eyelashes flutter…. Thanks for all the answers to life's conumdrums. šŸ™‚

  6. I checked with JoAnn's awhile back and as far as they could tell (it was completely out all over Utah), it is discontinued!!!

  7. That must be a VERY popular fabric! I have searched 5 different JoAnns multiple times for it and still haven't found it yet!! The search will continue…

  8. I'm going to make a special trip to Joanns today, I'm praying that they have it in the store closest to me. I am in LOVE with it! I'm moving into a new apartment and this fabric is perfect to match my kitchen and I'm so excited to find the perfect chairs to cover.

  9. Do you happen to know the number of the fabric? I live about 2 hours from any Joann's in no matter which direction I go and I have tried calling the stores, but they say they cannot look it up unless they have a number. Bummer! So before I drive all over MN looking I thought I check with one of you. Sad to here UT is out. My grandparents live in Orem and I was going to have my grandmother check for me. It is just an awesome fabric! Thanks for any info!

  10. I just got this fabric to make curtains for my living room! I googled the name from my receipt to see if I could find an image so I could post it on my blog and was rerouted to your blog! haha I did spend a good hour searching Joanns for the image beforehand jeesh!
