DIY super projects!

Doing things yourself has its MAJOR perks, and for the last two years (almost) All Things Thrifty has been demonstrating how decorating can be inexpensive.  Doing things yourself is a big strategy to lower costs for decorating, and that is why I tend to do my own projects. A few months ago, I started giving Blue Ribbons to those that meet a few criteria. In order to qualify for a blue ribbon, the project must be:

1: Ultra Unique
2. Demonstrates Originality
3. Crazily Creative
4. Thrifty
5. and you LOVE it!

You can nominate a project (yours or anyone elses) by sending an email with a link or picture to me at allthingsthrifty at gmail dot com. Make sure to include the words “Blue Ribbon” in your subject.

Finding cool projects is getting easier with Pinterest, so if you find something you love, don’t forget to share it with me!

This lamp is freakin’ awesome, and her lamp shade is HAND painted! Holy moly. Stacy from Not Just a Housewife is one talented chica. Check out her lamp tutorial. She won’t disappoint. I promise.

Check out this Anthropologie knock off from A Little Lovely. Oh the patience that must have taken. She gives a VERY thorough tutorial on how to make this bad boy. Best part? It only cost $20.00! Now that’s my kind of project!

My next blue ribbon award goes to Cleverly Inspired for her creative, “out of the box” way of thinking with this awesome frame project.

I love finding projects that inspire me, and they get my mind going. I woke up the other day at 6am to feed the baby and I started jotting down ideas. I LOVE quiet mornings. It helps my creative brain! Stay tuned for some fun projects coming up!
