Be a Little Sweeter

I finally decided on a 2015 motto. Yep, I run a little late with this stuff. It’s ok. I’ve embraced that I’m a chronic over-thinker, and I can be an introvert at times. I guess the main thing is that I don’t take a goal lightly.

This year I want to focus on these four words…

I want to be a little sweeter to my spouse, to my kids, to my neighbors, to my family, to my friends, neighbors…etc.

I need this motto. Sometimes I take life too seriously, and I forget the fun. I forget to make cookies, take dinner to a neighbor, write a note to my spouse, take the kids swimming, and to simply be the sweet person that I know I can be. I’m going to try harder to simply “be a little sweeter” this year.

I would LOVE for you to join me and share your experiences if someone was kind to you, please share it with me and use the hashtag: #bealittlesweetertoday. I would love to feature you! Just think about the difference people can make if they are just a little sweeter to one another. Lets flood the internet with kindness!

What do you think? Will you join me?

  1. I agree. We could all be a little sweeter. I often think of sweet things to do for someone, just to brighten their day, but somehow I never actually carry them out. I need to make my thoughts a reality. That, for me, is the hardest part because it requires effort from me. Thanks for the inspiration, kick in the butt, reminder, whatever you call it. I am going to make an effort to make it happen!#bealittlesweetertoday

  2. I always try to be sweeter than the “moments” call for.
    Not because I am a good person, but I learned long {long, long, long} time ago that once a moment, a time, a word has passed, you can never get it back.
    Maybe if we write down or post (sorry I don’t hashtag) what we did in a small way to be sweeter, it will help someone else say “Oh I can do that too”
    Thank you for your blog today
    {Did ya see there how I was sweeter?}

  3. Hi there. Just found your instagram feed a few weeks ago!

    Anyway, I immediately thought of a time a couple years back when I was at the grocery store with 3 of my little ones (4, 2, & 6 months). Anybody who’s grocery shopped with children knows what a stressful nightmare it can be. My insane (at the time) 2 year old was running up and down the aisles as fast as he could. I would typically try and rein him in, but I was feeling particularly overwhelmed (in life in general) and was just too exhausted to care. An elderly lady was taking in the scene then came right up to me with her finger pointed out. As I braced myself for a scolding, this is what she said, “You know what?! He’s gonna be a basketball player!” How harsh she could have been, but how gentle and loving to an exhausted momma she was instead! #bealittlesweetertoday
