Inexpensive Media Cabinet {5 minute update}

My upstairs family room is definitely a work in progress. In my defense, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on that room because the kids wreck havoc on that room. Until this week, we had the TV on a $14 IKEA shelf that was falling apart. I have had my eye on this BHG media console at Walmart for a few months, because it has such a pretty finish.

Although I think the current legs are totally fine, I LOVE these brass legs from Home Depot. They make my heart sing.

So, in five minutes and a drill, I switched the legs out.

I know it’s hard to see, but above the tv, I added “KIDS RULE…PARENTS DROOL” with vinyl. {I’m mentioning this because I know some of you will notice.}

It changes the look and I’m in love. The room looks so much better. BUT, I can totally change them back if I get sick of the change.

My favorite part is that it looks nice, but it didn’t break the bank. The cabinet was $249 at Walmart, and the brass legs were only $7 each.

I love that the family room finally looks decorated in this area!

    1. Yep, I bought the shark it at HomeGoods. In fact, I have a few other whales and sharks that I bought the same day. I’ll be using them in my little boys’ room. šŸ™‚

  1. I absolutely love this! I like a mid-century modern look, but those pieces can be so expensive. Now this gives me the idea to switch out the legs on some pieces to get the look I want. Thanks for sharing! šŸ™‚
