LDS Primary Chorister Summer Idea

It’s SUMMER! If you need a fun summer primary idea for singing time, this one is fun, and easy! Dressing up is Dan’s fave, and the kids always love to see what he comes up with. He dressed in all his Summer gear: Floaties, Scuba Mask, Beach Towel, Swim Shorts, Flippers, Beach Ball, Tube…etc.  lds primary chorister summer ideas

I love that he put his swimming shorts on over his suit pants! HA! The kids adore Dan. They love him so much. It makes me so happy. I mean how could they not? He is wearing flippers for heaven’s sake!

Ok, this is what he did for singing time. He had the kids play charades and each option had something to do with Summer. As soon as the kids guessed the answer, they sang the song that was linked to it.

These were the songs/charades that we used:

ACTION                     SONG

Swimming: Give Said the Little Stream

Cleaning the House: Do as I’m Doing

Riding a Bike: Oh What do you do in the Summer Time

Fighting with Siblings: Smile {If you chance to meet a frown}

Fireworks: I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ

Movie Night: Popcorn popping

Picking Flowers: I often to walking

Roasting Marshmallows:  Families can be Together Forever

The charades are quite easy to guess, so it was fun for the kids!

Hope this helps singing time be a little easier for you at least once this summer. 🙂

Brooke

  1. I LOVE this! I was laughing at his suit pants rolled up too – what an awesome chorister. I play the piano in Primary and I have to tell you that having a chorister who cares as much as your husband appears to (we have a similar chorister in our Ward, she dresses as a grandma etc.) makes the world of difference with the kids’ love of music and love of the Savior. Yay for choristers!!

  2. Ah! You guys are so fun!! This is such a fun and easy way to keep the kids engaged. A swim suit probably wouldn’t look so great over a dress though. Haha! I’d scare them all away. But, I’m sure I could come up with something else. TFS. You guys are awesome!!!

  3. I love this idea! I will use it for fall..may not have as fun of things to put on but I’ll go looking! Thanks for sharing!
