Plans this week at the WORLD’S LONGEST YARD SALE and Periscope!

FRIENDS! I’m headed to the world’s longest yard sale this week with GMC. I’m so freakin’ excited. I get to travel the entire sale this year. Last year we only travelled part of the sale.

We are starting in Detroit and will be ending in Atlanta! HOLY CRAPOLY, we will be traveling almost 800 miles in 4 days, but the mileage isn’t the concern. TIME is the concern for sure.

Time is of the essence since we are shopping for a lucky family along the way too.

If you haven’t heard about the GMC Hidden Treasure event, you are in for a treat. Here is the gist: GMC invites DIY bloggers to hep decorate a Habitat for Humanity home as a surprise for one lucky family. The bloggers travel the yard sale and get to drive amazing GMC vehicles the entire time and fill them full of items for that lucky family. Each blogger draws a room to decorate and they shop the yard sale searching for items {on a very small budget} for that room.

At the end of the journey, we will reveal the home to the owner. Here is the Master Bedroom that I decorated last year. I have gotten to be a part of this amazing event for several years, and I feel so blessed to get to go. I hope you will follow along our journey.

Follow the hashtag GMCHTA {GMC Hidden Treasure Adventure} on Instagram and Twitter.

Plus, this year I will be using Periscope to show you our journey LIVE along the way. If you don’t have a Periscope account, now is the time to get one!

Follow me on Periscope at allthingsthrift.

If you live too far away from the yard sale or if you want to see what it is like, follow along!

xoxo,

Brooke

  1. Really surprised me with this article. I live in Ashland, Kentucky area and we ran into the Yard Sale by mistake. There is everything I could have imagined from Jellies and Jams made with Jalopenias peppers. I moved back after Thirty-one years in Denver.

I am a participant on the other side this time looking forward to meeting people all week-end and letting go of some of my beloved things for bringing in the new to match my new life back in the ‘Ole Kentucky Hills.

Worth the trip ! I need an old screen door to restore ! Who knows maybe I can meet a new friend ! Enjoy !
