Girls Tween Bedroom Makeover {Gold, Turquoise, Magenta, & Pink}

My girls’ bedroom makeover has been done for a few weeks, but for some reason I was really struggling with the white balance on my camera! I tried to snap a few shots before I went out of town, but the pictures just looked off. I had my friend Brittany come over and re-do the white balance for me, and the pictures look 1 million times better. So, for my sanity’s sake, I’m revealing the room again! HAHA.

We didn’t do a ton, but the small changes have made SUCH A BIG difference! We got beautiful Chic White Beddy’s Bedding, and the girls absolutely love them. Zipping their beds is a Mom’s dream come true. They can make their beds in .2 seconds flat. I think I may LOVE THEM more as a Mom than they do!

The room looks so much softer now. It’s not so “in your face” if you know what I mean. {See before picture below}.

The girls sharing a room is something I pushed from the beginning because this room is so massive. Their beds are each full size, and they have plenty of room to spare.  Plus, I don’t think it kills them to learn to share a room at an early age.

The white dresser between the beds is from Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart, and it really finishes off the space nicely. We built the headboards ourselves, and the rug is from RUGS USA. We got it on one of their 75% off sales for less than $200. It has held up soooo great too. I was worried since it’s mainly white, but I am very impressed with how well it has lasted. We bought the rug in 2012!

The turquoise and white paint treatment on the walls was a doozy, but we didn’t change it since the last time I decorated the room, so it was fun to see how different the room looks when we change out just a few things! I’m an avid believer in change, and making small updates every few years so that you continue to LOVE your home.

The gold and white cheetah pillow on each bed cost less than $13 each, and the knit turquoise throw blankets from Target added just the punch of color that the beds needed.

If you can’t remember what the room looked like before, check out our first post about my girls room HERE. Plus here is a reminder of what it looked like before:

If you don’t like change, I understand. But, if you don’t ever change anything in your home all of the sudden 20 years will have gone by and you will still have orange shag carpet. So, try changing things every once in a while.

Hope you are having a great summer! We are getting ready to start school again next week. Maybe I’ll actually have a clean house for longer than 1 minute after they go back to school!?!

xoxo,

Brooke
