My blog friends and I have some GREAT ideas for you! At the bottom of this post, you will find links to the other 14 ideas!

Think of the hardest person on your Christmas list. No, let’s go even WORSE than that, think of the hardest person in your entire extended family to buy a gift for. Let’s be real, sometimes there are HARD people to buy gifts for! Sometimes you have a tough draw. Sometimes you simply have no freakin’ clue what that person would like.

I have the solution. Buy them a Home Depot Gift Card. I can think of literally no one in my life that wouldn’t like a Home Depot Gift card. In fact, truth be told, my 5 year old son wants to go buy “the wood to build a ramp” <——no kidding.

Every home owner on the planet has a project they are working on. When we bought our house our friend told us, “Welcome to the life of never having a free Saturday.” I can honestly say he was right. We ALWAYS have something to work on, and if we aren’t working on it, we always have something that we should be working on.

Even if you are renting there are one hundred million {ok I’m exaggerating} things you can buy at the Home Depot. So, I’ve come the conclusion that every single person would love a gift card from there. Heck, you can buy CLEANING supplies from The Home Depot. You can buy a shed. You can buy flowers, and rugs, and curtains, and lightbulbs. Everyone needs a lightbulb now and then.

Here’s a fun idea of how to make the gift card look a little showier.

Grab a bundle of stained boards in the Home Depot lumber aisle. {This is for those of us that need to make a bunch of gifts} If you need to make only one, feel free to buy one board. Plus, you can stain your wood yourself, but if you are in a hurry, these pre-stained boards are a GREAT option.

Step 1:Cut four boards with a miter saw. Two 5 inch boards and Two 41/2 inch boards.

Step 2: Brad nail the boards into a boxneighborhood-christmas-gift-card-idea-12

Step 3: Screw L brackets into the front of your cube

Set the gift card on the wood, and mark it with a pencil. neighborhood-christmas-gift-card-idea-9

Stick a piece of double stick tape on the back of the gift card, and place it onto the wood.

Step 4: Buy a poinsettia {we bought the miniature ones for just over $3} and place it in the wooden crate.

And like I said, it’s the perfect idea for those hard-to-buy-for peeps in your life. Plus, the Home Depot has so many great gift card designs, check them out here.

  1. Hi there,
Tried the link to Mr.Buildit but it seems to have been hijacked by a scam site. Just FYI.
