Jo’s House Remodel Project: THE KITCHEN

I received Quick-Step flooring and accessories for this project free of charge to facilitate my review.

Well friends! It’s been a long time coming but we are so excited to reveal another room for you today!! If you haven’t  been following along with Jo’s House series, let me bring you up to speed: We picked out the flooring, got the carpet out, put together this cute navy blue, pink, and gold living room, and then last week we showed you how to install stairs! Phew. Let’s just say it has been non-stop projects!

Today is a fun one though…. THE KITCHEN! This room is where Jo and her family spend the majority of their time so it needed to be functional. We also wanted it to be bright and airy! So to start things off they painted the ceiling white {like they did throughout the entire house} and also painted the walls Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. We also painted all the banisters and can lights white! All of this was done before the new Quick•Step flooring was installed!

There was linoleum in the kitchen and if you have ever tried to remove this stuff, you know it is DANG NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to get off! The amazing thing about the Quick•Step laminate flooring {we chose the Envique Maison Oak} is that it can go RIGHT OVER IT. Yep. Right over it. We put the underlayment on top of the linoleum and the laminate on top of that. Boom! Done, in and amazing! We could not be happier with how everything has come together! I am just going to let the pictures speak for themselves because they are too good not to. So without further adieu… The Kitchen!

white-kitchen-makeover-quik-step-flooring-10Ah, the wall of love! I know I keep saying I love everything but guys, I really do! This wall took us a minute to get just right but I think it looks amazing!

white-kitchen-makeover-quik-step-flooring-6Jo’s kitchen table was her grandma’s and is probably 60 years old. It’s made of Formica which means indestructible! Ha! The curtains are from her old house and worked perfect in this space!

white-kitchen-makeover-quik-step-flooring-20That island seems as if it were made for this space but guess what? It wasn’t HA! It’s an older piece from Pottery Barn and Dan’s boss was taking it to the DI so Dan offered to take it off his hands. When I saw it I instantly knew that it wasn’t going in MY house but I knew just where it could go! {even if Dan didn’t quite agree!} It really is perfect there though!! As you can see, there is minimal counter space so this helps solve that plus it has those 3 huge drawers which makes for excellent storage!
