Grey and White Bathroom Renovation Reveal

This post is sponsored by the Home Depot. All opinions are 100% mine.

The bathroom reveal day is finally HERE! I cannot wait to finally show you the reveal of our bathroom. I am a little obsessed with how it turned out. The bathroom plan turned out exactly how I had pictured it in my mind.

Here is a reminder of the bathroom plan that I talked about HERE. It really is exactly what I had pictured!

I know that some of you will ask for more details about our product choices, so to make that easy, I’ll link them all for you.

It’s always fun to see the plan come to life. I installed the shiplap myself {well with Jo my bff’s help}, and I couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out. We used nickels to space the boards. But I do have to admit that after we installed the boards, I took a very small paint brush and painted in between them. It was driving me crazy that I could see the blue paint on the wall behind them. I should have painted the wall between the boards as we went, but I honestly didn’t think it would be noticeable. But, I’m a perfectionist, and I could TOTALLY tell. Lesson learned.

Bathroom Updates 2-10

I talk more in depth about why we chose shiplap in my post over on the Home Depot blog today. In short, the wall was severely damaged after I removed the mirror, so shiplap was the answer! To see the wall, check it out on the Home Depot’s blog

I’m a sucker for a good before and after {maybe it stems from the good ‘ol days of Trading Spaces on TLC.} Ha!

For those that loved Paige Davis, Hildi, and Vern as much as I did, here is the before picture of the bathroom:
Bathroom Makeover

Although the paint color before was a pretty light blue minty color before, I cannot believe the difference it made to paint the walls a brighter color. It goes to show how powerful even a shade lighter of paint can be in a room. The ceiling and three of the walls are ultra bright white by Behr, and the shiplap is Behr Whitewash Oak at 75% saturation to lighten it slightly.

Just check out the difference:

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves because I am definitely having a proud moment over here. The bathroom is so beautiful now! I hope you can tell how much of a difference this makeover made.

I love the contrast between the vanity and the oil rubbed bronze hardware and faucet. I even love the new double rod towel bar too.

I shibori dyed the curtains myself, so look for that post this week. It’s a subtle pink and I love how they turned out.

‘The pink rug is a definite show stopper! But thanks to Mandi’s makeover at Aspyn’s house, I have been obsessed with this rug for months now. It’s from Home Depot online.

The old vanity was definitely beat up, and changing it out to the new bright white vanity made a huge difference. I ordered it online, and it was shipped directly to my door. It was pretty heavy though, so make sure you have BSBs {big strong boys} who can help you lift it into your home. The new vanity has quartz counter tops and the drawers even have the anti-slam feature!

Bathroom Updates 2-3

I love when a room is done, but it didn’t happen without a lot of sweat and hard work. My boys had a lot of fun with removing the tile. {For instructions on how to do that yourself, check out this past post about tile removal.} It was definitely a crazy few days around here. We had a toilet on our driveway and our neighbors probably hated us for a few days. {Let’s not ask them, ok!?!}.

Bathroom Updates 2-7

Hard work pays off, and I think it’s good for the kids to help with projects sometimes. It may help them to see how hard Mom and Dad work. I do have to admit though, when we decided to sell our house, the bathroom wasn’t even done yet. So, whoever buys our house is one lucky duck!

Let me know if you have any questions about the bathroom, and I’ll answer them in the comments. If you have questions about my house, feel free to go see the post that may answer those questions HERE.

Hope you had a great weekend!

xoxo,

Brooke

  1. Hi there Brooke-I have been wanting to comment and ask questions for a while! I love your bathroom redo. In fact I am mimicking it myself! It is exactly what I am looking for for my own update.
My bathroom is smaller than yours, 5’4″ width, and 5’7″ length to work with (the rest is tub), and I chose a 36″ vanity.
I wondered if you could tell me the size of your bathroom?
And I love the toilet. Is that also a Home Depot buy?

Your spaces are very inspiring Brooke-thank you!

    1. Hi Rebecca! Thank you for your kind comment! You are going to LOVE your project when you get done! As for the question about how large this room is…we no longer live in the house with this bathroom. I’m so sorry! If I still lived there I could measure for you!

      1. Oh that’s ok! I appreciate your reply. And I am so excited to get the project going! Another couple of weeks I think.
Thank you again for the inspiration 🙂

      2. One more question for you Brooke!
For your floor-and I realize you may not remember now-it’s very nice but I am worried about so much grout to clean with the smallish tiles. I wondered what color grout you used-if it was white or more of a gray. I can’t seem to zoom in on the floor so I can’t tell.

        Thanks!
        Rebecca
