Hi! It’s Jessica from Lou Lou Girls! How’s your Christmas prep going? Are you freaking out yet!! Only 8 MORE DAYS!!! Holy cannoli! I did all my shopping online this year, so I’m feeling pretty good about it, except one of the MAIN gifts hasn’t arrived yet, so I’m crossing my fingers that it gets here in time, or before we head out of town for holiday shenanigans! This year was fun, because we moved into a BRAND SPANKING … [Read more...]

Happy early Thanksgiving to all you lovely ATT readers!  We hope this is a time for family and friends gathering together, breaking bread and shootin' the breeze!  Over here in California, we have a good old fashioned Thanksgiving Day hike on the books.  So excited to eat turkey and then get out into the great outdoors with some of my favorite people.  This may seem weird, but with a wedding to cater just two days after … [Read more...]

Before you take this opportunity to grab a nap thinking “Who needs a whole blog post about brush care?!?” Let me get your attention with this fantastic selfie:   I don’t mean to scare you. Then again, Yes I do. Your brushes could look like my hair if you don’t keep reading… If you have been painting with chalk paint for any amount of time, you know the best brushes have natural, chisel-tipped … [Read more...]

I'm obsessed with the ladder towel holder that I built for my bathroom, so I whipped up another one for magazines in the office! I used thinner pieces of wood so that the magazines would lay flat, but other than that, the plans are basically the same! I used my trusty B.B. Frosch Chalk Paint powder to make Chalk Paint, and painted it with Behr Lipstick. I distressed it a little bit with dark wax to give … [Read more...]

This post is sponsored by my friends at finditathomedepot.com. All opinions are 100% my own.  A new study from Swiffer found that 82% of American wives don't ask for help with cleaning because they don't want to be a 'nag,' yet 61% of husbands said they would help with the chores if just asked.  One of the most popular questions that I get asked is how I get my husband to help me so much with projects! Because let's … [Read more...]

Happy October all you ATT people! This month, Sam and I have been slammed.  Wedding season is in full force!  However, we never let cooking and designing parties for 300 slow us down from getting our hands dirty in the craft room or garage.  Today's post shares a special place in our hearts, because we got back to our roots with a little dumpster diving. If you have visited us over at zestitup.com, you probably know that … [Read more...]

ATT Painted Fabric 1

I recently acquired a lovely turn-of-the-century settee.  When Kennadi begged to have it in her room, it was challenging to "Imagine" (stay with me, it'll click) how this... could possibly be made to go in a room that looks like this... We couldn't just "Let it Be," so I told Kennadi "We Can Work it Out!" (see what I did there?  You know, the Beatles...) Anyone who knows me knows that most problems in my … [Read more...]

Hi! I'm Kristin, a.k.a. The Shabby Bride, from BB Frösch.  I'm all about furniture makeovers, up cycles, and redesigns.  I'm the lady you see in public wearing comfy painty clothes, hair pulled back, no make-up, diet Dr. Pepper in hand, and looking, well, less than "put together."  When I say "in public," I'm referring to Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Garage Sales, and Auctions--not the grocery store.  Truthfully, my hands are … [Read more...]
