Painted Fabric on Furniture Tutorial

ATT Painted Fabric 1

I recently acquired a lovely turn-of-the-century settee.  When Kennadi begged to have it in her room, it was challenging to "Imagine" (stay with me, it'll click) how this... could possibly be made to go in a room that looks like this... We couldn't just "Let it Be," so I told Kennadi "We Can Work it Out!" (see what I did there?  You know, the Beatles...) Anyone who knows me knows that most problems in my … [Read more...]

Hand-Painted Furniture Hack

Jul 29th, 2014

Hi! I'm Kristin, a.k.a. The Shabby Bride, from BB Frösch.  I'm all about furniture makeovers, up cycles, and redesigns.  I'm the lady you see in public wearing comfy painty clothes, hair pulled back, no make-up, diet Dr. Pepper in hand, and looking, well, less than "put together."  When I say "in public," I'm referring to Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Garage Sales, and Auctions--not the grocery store.  Truthfully, my hands are … [Read more...]

Ice Cubes in my Nightstand!?

Jul 22nd, 2014

Greetings! We are two sisters (yes we're twins ;-) ) who grew up as "farmgirls" and still love to nurture the farmgirl within. We have 11 kids between the two of us (yes, it's lovely chaos) and two very patient husbands.  We love giving 2nd chances to 2nd hand finds and bringing old furniture back to life. We have a hard time walking away from furniture with "potential", so in 2010 , in an effort to stop the hoarding … [Read more...]

Painting Filing Cabinets with Lacquer {Peach and Coral!}

Jun 9th, 2014

My husband, bless his cute little heart thought I was crazy to buy three of these filing cabinets from the local thrift store. I had a vision, and I was not leaving without them. Little did I know they were heavier than all get out. We kind of hoped they had gold bars stowed inside, but all we found was a bunch of junk and a lot of grime inside. It took me all day to scrub them. You see, I was secretly planning to … [Read more...]

Multi-Functioning Coffee Table {Kid’s Art Supply Storage AND Flower Planter in one!}

Apr 7th, 2014

  Sometimes it’s hard to create that balance between a chaotic house and a clean house, and every single day I found myself pulling out the art supplies for my daughter Londyn. She loves to draw, and I decided that instead of putting away the art supplies multiple times a week, we would make a permanent table in the family room for her crayons and colored pencils. The great thing about the table though is that the … [Read more...]

How to paint furniture with Lacquer.

How to paint furniture with lacquer

1. Find a table and wash off all the macaroni and cheese splatters. {The lacquer won’t stick if it isn’t clean}. We bought ours at a yard sale for $125.00. It is solid wood and three people can barely move the beast. 2. Design or purchase your vinyl. I made my fork and knife on my Silhouette machine and cut the vinyl myself. 3. Weed the vinyl with a hook tool. 4. Measure your table to make sure your vinyl is … [Read more...]

Painting Furniture is SUPER easy and can save you lots and lots of $$

Feb 14th, 2013

Happy Valentine's Day! Why not start the day off with a Pink Dresser transformation. Painting furniture is one of my favorite things to do around here because it can save a TON of money. Most of the time the style of an old/thrifted dresser far exceeds the style of a new dresser and its hefty price tag. I have been working on my girls' beautiful room for awhile, and my cute hubby found this amazing dresser at the DI … [Read more...]
