Caramel Drizzle Baked French Toast

  • 2 dense bread baguettes
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 c half and half
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 1/4 t cinnamon

Caramel drizzle:

  • 3/4 c butter

  • 3 T light corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Cut bread into 1 inch slices {Make sure you use a dense bread, it helps the texture of the french toast

    Place slide bread into a greased 9X13 baking dish {I always do two layers of bread so that the pan is filled to the top}

    Mix eggs, milk, half and half, vanilla, and cinnamon

    Pour egg mixture over the bread, cover and refrigerate overnight. {Or at least a few hours}

    The next morning, preheat oven to 350

    Combine butter, brown sugar, and light corn syrup in a saucepan

    Heat until bubbling

    Pour over bread mixture

    Bake uncovered for 40 min at 350. Serve with berries, fresh whipped cream and syrup.

I made this baked french toast {my mother in law Julie’s recipe} for my Bunko group last night, and I promised them I would share the recipe asap.

One of my friends said that this recipe was “Better than Kneaders!” And everyone raved over the yumminess. It made me feel so special. Thanks gals.

I have to agree it’s a freaking delicious recipe! baked french toast caramel drizzle

Serve with fresh sweetened heavy whipped cream {my favorite brand is Darigold which is sold at my local Costco}, powdered sugar, fresh fruit and homemade caramel syrup found on my Sister in Law Jessica’s blog Lou Lou Girls

    1. I’m sure you could make it with any type of bread, but the cinnamon bread that I’ve had a Kneaders isn’t as dense as the type of bread that I use.

  1. I’m going to make with stale cinnamon crunch bagels . How many cups of Bread cubes do you get from two baguettes, please?

    1. I’m not sure how many cups, but I fill the entire pan to the brim. Hopefully that helps! Sounds yummy!
