How to Glaze Furniture Part 2, a Video Tutorial

Apr 13th, 2011

With the help of my friend Jo (Thanks JO!), I have made a few video tutorials to demonstrate how to glaze furniture. I get a lot of questions about glazing, and I figured that if I showed you on a video, it would help to see how easy it really is! I made Part 1 (which shows how to mix the glaze), and it will NOT upload. So, I will have to re-shoot that one. But, instead of waiting until the first one was ready, I figured I would share Part 2 and Part 3 in the mean time.

Don’t tease me, seeing myself and hearing myself on the video has been quite comical. Is that REALLY what I sound like!?! The things I do for you…I must REALLY love you guys. :) Stay tuned for Part 3 and Part 1 for that matter!

  3. Ah, good times! :-) Glad I could contribute… however your lisp does sound a bit stronger on my computer! Bahahah, JUST KIDDING!! Let's get together and re-shoot Part 1 shall we? xoxo

  4. I think you sound fine! Miss you guys!

Thanks Brookie…I am one of those that have been nervous about this. But now I will be brave enough to do a little glazing when I redue my bedroom this summer. Your the best sista!

  7. Brooke,
I can not find your glazing part 1 video on mixing your glaze.

  8. THANK YOU!!! I was just at home depot trying to get them to tell me exactly what to do and I was seriously nervous. I though you had to wipe it right off the second it hit or it would just be a big dark mess. Bless you! I am going to go glaze my cute yellow table now!

  9. Brooke @ www.allthingsthrifty.com says:

    Kathy,
It wouldn't load, so I have to re-shoot it.

  10. Brooke thank you for making it all look & sound so easy! I have tried more painting & furniture "enhancements" projects since finding your blog last year. Also love that you are apply black glaze with a long sleeved white shirt! I would have black marks all up my arms. lol

  11. You are so brave. I can't believe you did that with a white shirt on. That's a great video. I learned how to glaze from your blog and I have been so pleased with it.

  12. Have you since uploaded the video on how to mix the glaze? I am dying to try this technique! Thanks!

  13. Me too!!! I've been waiting…I have all the supplies, but just need to know how to mix the glaze!!

  14. I have an asthetic question (because i suck at that part)… My kitchen walls are a pale yellow and my cabinets are a cream color. If I were to glaze the cabinets, what color would you recommend?

    Thanks, Sarah
