DIY Paper Fall Leaf Garland

This post is sponsored by JoAnn. All opinions are 100% mine, always.

I love decorating with color, so when holidays come around, it’s a tiny bit challenging to adding traditional fall decorating colors of rust, orange, brown…etc into my bright blue mantle! But, this year I decided to take a bit of a mismatched approach.  I made a COLORFUL fall leaf garland out of the cutest paper ever!

I started with two booklets of 6” square paper that happens to be designed by a great friend Maggie Holmes. I met her at Snap a few years ago, and I’m obsessed with her line every year. But, to be completely honest, when I picked out the paper, I didn’t even realize it was hers!

I love every single pattern individually, and since I’ve always been obsessed with mismatched projects, I piled them all in next to each other.

I used my trusty Silhouette CAMEO to cut a few different shapes of paper leaves.

And then I used a regular sewing machine to sew them together into a long garland strand.

The paper is so cute that it turns a simple project into an Anthropologie-vibe!

I started out by putting the garland in my dining room, scroll down, but then I decided that it would look even cuter on my blue mantle! I’m obsessed.  I added a velvet white pumpkin from this Velvet Pumpkin bunch  and all the sudden the mantle looks ready for fall.

I added the garland to my Fall holiday vignette in my dining room too, and I loved it so much, that I added it to the back of the wall to peek in through the window frame too.

I love all of the Fall Decor that JoAnn carries every year. In case you missed my fall mantle post last year, you can check it out here. Everything from that 2017 mantle was also from JoAnn!

I particularly liked the fall signs that JoAnn has this year. But, I honestly think I will leave the family sign up year round!

And I loved the cloche set too, and those pieces can also be adapted to other seasons.

If you have any colorful holiday decor that you love, I would love for you to share them with me! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments and I will answer them asap!

xoxo,

Brooke
