I’m gonna keep this post short and sweet because I feel like my words could taint what the pictures already say. I will say this, every so often, I get to be a part of something that touches my heart and brings tears to my eyes, and this experience was an absolute pleasure to be a part of. I made new friends and reconnected with my friends at GMC to help with another Habitat for Humanity reveal.

Latoya has four kids and before today, she was crammed into a small apartment with her four kids who shared mattresses and slept on the floor. Isn’t she BEAUTIFUL!?!? Oh my gosh, I will remember her smile for forever. She is so full of gratitude and her kids are so stinking cute. Listen to this amazing song that Latoya sang:

It brings tears to my eyes to hear her sing about how her life is going to be better. Some of you seasoned readers will remember that I got to help with the Habitat for Humanity Hidden Treasure Adventure last year, and this year the event fell on the exact dates of Haven Conference. I was asked to speak at Haven Conference with my brother Court, so I wasn’t able to go on the World’s longest yard sale this year, but I was able to represent GMC at Haven and share our experience there. After the conference ended on Saturday night, I got to go and help the bloggers and the GMC team decorate the Habitat for Humanity house for Latoya.

The bloggers that went on the World’s Longest Yard Sale are: Liz, Courtney, Christine, Carissa, Jocie, and Kirsten. I can’t deny that I was JEALOUS that they were on the sale while I was at Haven.  :)

They were each given a room to decorate and $250.00 to spend at the world’s longest yard sale. If you are not familiar with that yard sale, check out the 127 sale website. In a nutshell, it’s a yard sale that starts in Michigan and ends in Alabama. It is absolute craziness to travel that far in a 3 day time span, but when you are looking for items for a deserving homeowner, it is worth the stress! GMCHTA-2013-Bloggers.jpg

Check out their amazing blogs: Liz from Liz Marie Blog: boys bedroom — Courtney from French Country Cottage: kitchen/dining room and laundry room — Christine from The DIY Dreamer: music room and kid’s bathroom — Carissa from Good N Crazy: girl’s bedroom — Jocie from The Better Half: living room — Kirsten from Simply Grove: master bedroom and bathroom

I’ll cut to the chase and show you a few pictures from each room, but to get the full stories, check out the bloggers’ reveal posts!

Kirsten from Simply Grove decorated the Master bedroom.

Liz at Liz Marie Blog decorated the boys’ room.

Courtney at French Country Cottage decorated the kitchen

Christine at The DIY dreamer decorated the music room/office

Jocie at One Project Closer/The Better Half decorated the living room. {And I got to help decorate in this room too!}

I would like to thank GMC for organizing this amazing event and letting me be a part of it.  Thank you to the amazing peeps at Rustoleum for donating paint, furniture items, and decor accessories that we used in Latoya’s home.

My travel and expenses were covered by GMC, however I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
