Hey ATT readers! It’s Lauren, from Tastes Better From Scratch, and I’m excited to be back again so close to the holidays to share another family recipe with you all!   Hot Fudge Sauce recipe from TastesBetterFromScratch.com on All Things Thrifty

There’s nothing easier or more delicious than this classic homemade hot fudge sauce! My mom always made it during the holidays; particularly for Christmas Eve and News Years Eve, and it is always a crowd pleaser!

We’d typically have a big hot fudge sundae bar where you could load your ice cream with all sorts of yummy toppings. Then you’d drizzle it with this amazing homemade hot fudge sauce. It’s the perfect sweet treat for holiday parties because it takes minutes to prepare and you can make it in advance! Then, come party time, all you have to do is warm it in the microwave and drizzle it over ice cream! Fancy enough to please your guests and easy enough that you wont miss out on the party while preparing the treat!

It also makes a great neighbor gift! Make it in advance and refrigerate it until you’re ready to deliver. You could even put a cute label on it or send it with a tub of ice-cream!

Ingredients:

10 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1/3 cup sifted unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup heavy cream
pinch salt
1/3 cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 Tbsp butter, chopped into pieces

Directions:
In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. (Careful not to scorch or overheat it!) Remove from microwave and stir in the sifted cocoa powder until smooth (it may be quite thick). Set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the sugar, corn syrup, cream, salt and water. Stir constantly until the sugar is dissolved. Increase to medium-high and simmer, stirring frequently, for 3-4 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter. Stir well to combine. Then stir in the melted chocolate mixture until smooth. Serve warm.

To store: Refrigerate in an air-tight container for up to 3 weeks. Warm in lightly in the microwave to serve.

*Makes 2 cups
