DIY Industrial Curtain Rod

Hey Guys! It’s Allison from Two Thirty~Five Designs and I am back today to show you how to get your windows ready before all of the holiday guests arrive!

After posting the GMC Playroom Reveal and my DIY Striped Panels that I made, I have had a ton of questions on the Curtain Rods.
What are they? How did I put them together? Etc.

Just like on my Industrial Lockers, I used galvanized pipe to make the rods. It has seriously become one of my main go-to’s for a great hack.

Materials:

measure, measure and measure again. These suckers are going to be anchored into your wall, so it’s not exactly easy to move around.
Every piece I purchased came in 1/2″ width. You can select from multiple sizes, so think about the weight and your curtain size.
4 Flanges
2 Elbows
2 T’s
4 3″inch Nipples (this depends on how far out you want it from the wall)
Three pipes (Measurements vary depending on your window width). Lowes will cut and thread the pipes to your measurements. I overlapped each window. Also, if you have a smaller window area, you can use just one rod. This is a long wall, so I made sure to anchor it in several spots.

Shopping List for Industrial Curtain Rod

After everything is clean, fully assemble your center section.
1. Two flanges, two nipples, two T’s and your center bar.
2. Figure out your height and place on wall, making sure all is level, and mark where it needs to be anchored.
3. Install your anchors, then attach the pipe to your wall.

DIY Industrial Curtain Rod How-To

1. Assemble each side piece (one flange, one nipple, one elbow and one long rod).
2. Screw into the T.
3. Mark your spots to be anchored.
4. Unscrew and install anchors.
5. Slide your curtain on. This must be done BEFORE the pipe is attached, unless you are using curtain hooks.
6. Screw outside pipe into the T again and attach into the wall anchors.

I totally dig it. Nothing like chipping away at my winter to-do lists!
