Spring Floral Print Gallery Wall

Hello!  It’s Kenz here from Interiors By Kenz.  Did you guys know I’m having a baby in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS?!  We’re definitely down to the wire and trying to get all our ducks in a row before this little girl gets here.  If you’ve been following my blog, you know I recently installed some very chic pineapple wallpaper.

The pattern is a little on the busier side, so I wanted to tone it down with some simple art above the dresser.  I looked around quite a bit for a set of prints I liked that all went together, but my searches kept coming up short.  Then, I had an idea!  Why not make my own prints?!

I visited a local florist and described my idea to her.  She helped me put together a bouquet of seasonal flowers.

I brought them home and photographed them individually on a white poster board.  I don’t claim to be a photographer at all, but I did my best, and I thought they turned out lovely.

After photographing the flowers and ordering the prints, these were the supplies I needed to make the gallery wall:  (Obviously Thin Mints are a supply for ANY project when you’re 9 months pregnant.  A hangry DIYer is not a successful DIYer.)

I traced my frame onto left over wallpaper, and cut out six templates.

Then I poked holes in each template for where the nail in the wall would need to be.

For me, it was easier to do the bottom row first.  I started with the middle template and centered it with the dresser.  I made sure it was level, then I measured 4″ to the right, and hung that template.  Repeat that same step, only to the right.

From here, I measured up from the center template 4″ to hang the top/middle template.  Then same, 4″ to the left, 4″ to the right.  Make sure they’re all level.

Since the templates all have where the nail hole needs to be, go ahead and place your nail in the wall, right on top of the paper.  Then rip that paper right off!

I put the prints in the frames and shuffled them around until I found an arrangement I liked.

The last step is the easiest step.  Simply put the frames on the nails, and that’s it!

It was the exact botanical simplicity I was looking for to tie in with the pineapples.

We’re still finishing up some projects in the nursery, and I would love if you’d follow along at Interiors By Kenz and stay tuned for the big reveal.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

  1. Kenz, this is such a great idea! I think I’m going to try this soon. What a perfect time of year for this project! I miss seeing your posts but know growing baby Crowder is really important work!

  2. Those are beautiful! Where did you get the frames with matting for your photos? My daughter is pregnant and I’d like to do something similar for her.
