Good morning ATT readers! And happy long-weekend to you! I’m Beth from Sawdust and Embryos! Today I have a super fun/easy tutorial to share with you. We used an old papasan chair/cushion to make a cozy canopy for our twins’ new room! If you don’t already have a papasan chair lying around in your basement, you can find them almost anywhere... garage sales, thrift stores, craigslist. And for CHEAP too! We … [Read more...]

Gooooooooood MORNING my friends! Beth here from Sawdust and Embryos... and as always, I’m overjoyed to be here! My husband and I have been working away at our twins’ big-girl room in preparation for the day they’re throwing themselves out of their crib. Seeing as they’re 2.5, that could happen any day. So far, we’ve built and upholstered their mini fainting couch / toddler beds, stenciled the Herringbone Accent … [Read more...]

Lexee used to close her eyes when she walked by her daughters’ room door.  If you have kids you can probably relate. Her daughters’ room was similar to most children’s bedrooms. The room was boring and LOADED with toys. Plus, the layout of the room wasn’t functioning properly with an oversized bunk bed tucked to one side.  So, she gave me the chance to attack this room and of course I couldn’t resist.  Lexee’s girls are … [Read more...]

You all know that I am FINALLY done with Lexee's girls room! I am in love with this project and the main focal point in the room are these ginormous letters above her girls' beds!  Although I do cut my own letters with a jigsaw at times, this particular project I didn’t. We were short on time so we ordered them this time. We bought the letters from Craft Cuts, and they are fantastic! We got the letters in just a few … [Read more...]

Hi there! It's Aly from Entirely Eventful Day. I am so thrilled that Brooke asked me to share a fun, girlie project with you. I hope you love this printable as much as I do!  If you like it, please check out my other printables. I have a daughter. She is amazing. Sometimes she worries. Sometimes she doesn't understand how amazing she is. She's only nine but she worries about getting a scholarship to the university I … [Read more...]

Happy Valentine's Day! Why not start the day off with a Pink Dresser transformation. Painting furniture is one of my favorite things to do around here because it can save a TON of money. Most of the time the style of an old/thrifted dresser far exceeds the style of a new dresser and its hefty price tag. I have been working on my girls' beautiful room for awhile, and my cute hubby found this amazing dresser at the DI … [Read more...]

beautiful rooms[3]

My girls’ room has been a work in progress for ahem, three years. But, lately we’ve got our butts in gear and started making progress. I painted the plaid walls, upholstered the headboards, and FINALLY found an affordable rug.I’m a little picky with rugs because quality in a rug is a big deal to me. I don’t want a rug that will start to curl up on the edges, and I don’t suggest that anyone else buy a “cheap” rug either. I … [Read more...]

Yes, you read that correctly, I said PLAID. I will explain, just give me time. Yo, yo, yo! Did you think I dropped off the face of the planet? I know that projects have been sparse lately, but that doesn’t mean that we haven’t been doing any. We have been up to our eyelids in projects around here.  Plus, I’ve been sick lately. Yeah, I won’t give you a sob story, but it hasn’t been fun. My family is ready for me to be … [Read more...]

girls room 2_thumb[1]

I’ve been working on my girls’ room for six months. Okay that’s a lie. I’ve been working on it for over a year. {Shhhh, don’t t tell them that this isn’t normal}. They are used to living a disheveled life with their mattresses on the floor. When we moved in to our new house three years ago, I had just bought bunk beds. Well, the girls’ room has angled ceilings, and we couldn’t use the beds stacked. I sold them in February … [Read more...]

window with owl family[6]

Did ya’all have a great day yesterday!?! Well, Creed {my youngest} dumped maple syrup on my carpet! Good times. Good times. So, needless to say I didn’t get to write the post that I intended to. Ummmm yeah. Moving on…  One of the best parts of my life is when I get to help someone decorate a room in their home. My friend Dani {who I love dearly} let me help here and there with the decisions for her daughter Abby’s … [Read more...]
