Easy Bench Makeover that Makes a Girl Happy

Aparently a little paint and a 1/2 yard of fabric is all a girl needs to lift her spirits.  No wonder my husband is so confused about me at times. Ha!

Random sidenote, my baby, Creed will be 5 years old in January! My mind skipped to that topic because his newborn pictures were taken on the bench.

I cannot believe that was nearly 5 years ago. I’m seriously in shock.

I’ve had the bench for 7 years, and to be honest, I don’t think I have a good before picture that shows the entire thing. You win some, you lose some, right? The only picture I could find with even a glimpse of the bench is the one with the cute baby laying on it above. šŸ™‚

I love the spindly legs, and reupholstering a bench is easy peasy. I have a tutorial that walks you step by step through the entire bench upholstering process.

Doesn’t it look cute in my office!?! I’m kinda obsessed with this green/yellow color lately. It’s my fave.

In case you are wondering, the rug is from RUGSUSA. I bought it on one of their mega sales!

To transform the bench, into this cute little beauty, I mixed my favorite BB Frosch chalk powder and BEHR flat paint that I had tinted Sherwin Williams Frolic {6703}. I buy $3 samples paints in the paint department at the Home Depot, mix a little bit of powder in, and it turns into chalk paint! It’s awesome!

The fabric that I upholstered the bench with is a cute black and white pattern from Nate Berkus at Joann

I waxed with the clear wax and a little dark wax along the edges to add a little dimension and age.

I just needed a little project. Sometimes BIG projects overtake things around here. I just needed a small project for a minute. I bet you can relate.

Have a great weekend, friends!

xoxo,

Brooke
