Best White Bread Recipe EVER.

Best-White-Bread-Ever

I’ve tried a lot of bread recipes. Ever since I got my Bosch Mixer, I’ve become a self-proclaimed “bread maker” and I absolutely love it. If you want to see how to make delicious honey wheat bread, check out my how-to post here.

But sometimes a great slice of white bread is the only thing that hits the spot. It reminds me of my childhood. I learned how to make bread from my merry miss leaders, and it has always made me think of those wonderful ladies in good ‘ol tiny Holden Utah where I grew up. best-white-bread-recipe-ever-28

Best White Bread Recipe EVER!

Servings 4 loaves

Ingredients

  • 3 T Yeast
  • 1/2 c Sugar
  • 5 c Bread Flour {I like King Arthur brand, but I've used others too}
  • 6 c Warm Water
  • 1 c Bread Flour
  • 3 T Salt
  • 1 c Veg Oil
  • 8-11 c more Bread Flour

Instructions

  1. 3T Yeast, 1/2 c sugar, 5 c. Bread Flour, 6 c. warm water {Mix 2 minutes in Bosch Mixer with a dough hook}

  2. Add 1 c. flour, 3 T salt, 1 c. oil, {Mix 5 minutes}
  3. Add 8-11 c more flour until the dough starts pulling away from the sides and the sides become clean. After you have added enough flour, mix from 5 more min.
  4. Cover the counter with a small amount of veg oil and dump the dough onto it. Form the dough into a ball and put it into a bowl sprayed with cooking spray.
  5. Cover the bowl with a damp towel and let it rise until double in size {about 1 hour}. Poke the dough with your finger, if the dough is ready, the poke will stay in. If it needs to rise longer, the hole will go away immediately.

  6. Form 4 Loaves and place in greased pans. Cover with damp cloths and let rise until the are above the top of the pan. {This usually takes about 30 min}.
  7. Bake at 350 for 33 minutes. I bake all of mine together in the oven at the same time.

  1. My sons love white bread! We usually get it from Costco. Since I just got a bread maker. I would love to try this recipt! I have a quesiton, after I make and slice, can I put it in the freezer so I can store for longer time? Thank you.

    1. Yes!! It freezes great! You can even leave it whole and then slice once it has thawed! Good luck, it is so yummy!

  2. This looks amazing! Trying it today. The top of the loaf looks awesome! Do you form your loaves a certain way so they look like that? Or is that just how they baked up? They look like they’d just pull apart in sections kind of. I thought maybe I’d try a loaf that way.

    1. I braided the whole loaf. It looks really pretty like that, but no it doesn’t pull apart! 🙂

  3. This looks so yummy. I just got a Bosch mixer. I love making your 1 hour rolls in it. I just had a few questions about this recipe. I’m new to the mixer and this recipe calls for a lot of flour. Does it all fit or do you need to do 2 separate batches? Also is there anyway you could do a video or explain how you braid the loaf? Thank you!!
