Fantasy Football T-shirt Idea

I hope you have all had a happy holiday, and since you are an amazing reader of All Things Thrifty, today you get the chance to win a SILHOUETTE CAMEO!!!!!

silhouette-cameo-graphtec-vinyl-cutter I’m tellin’ ya, this machine is the ultimate crafting tool. I use mine all the time. I even used it to make my hubby the sweetest shirt for Christmas! I used the fabric starter kit, and it worked like a charm.I have to explain what this shirt even means!!! Ha ha. My husband plays fantasy football with his brothers and friends, and I tease him all the time about it. I call it “imaginary football” because they play in these intense leagues where they taunt and tease each other in their la la land of fantasy. It cracks me up (or it ticks me off depending on the minute). Ha! They are constantly checking their phones for stats and they can’t get enough of watching that darn game! First of all I GOOGLED the year that fantasy football began, and I about fell off my chair when I found that it started in 1962. WHAT THE!?!? After I picked up my chin from the floor, I started making the bad boy.
So first, I bought a Nike shirt at the local TJMaxx so that the shirt would look legit. I marked the shirt with tape so that the saying would be perfectly centered.

How to make a T-shirt
Then I designed the shirt with my silhouette software. Imaginary Football Every Christmas Eve, we open new pajamas to wear, and I wanted my hubby to have some new jammies too. BUT, whenever I have made t-shirts with transfer paper or iron on materials, it has never lasted. So, this time I wanted the shirt to last. Christmas and Window pics 023 I used my Silhouette to cut some vinyl to use as my stencil, and to make it easier, you can use Silhouette’s stencil vinyl. I had already used my stencil vinyl that I had on hand on a top secret project for Jill’s house, so stay tuned for another project coming up soon that you are going to LOVE!!! So, I used some jade vinyl that I had on hand. Next, I stenciled on blue fabric ink. I was careful to dab off the wet paint onto a paper towel before I dabbed it onto the shirt.
Christmas and Window pics 024 Silhouette fabric ink kit
Then I let the paint dry and removed the vinyl with a small hook. Christmas and Window pics 031 I’m tellin’ ya, the shirt looks like it was printed in the Nike shop!! Dan t-shirt 007
My husband was cracking up when he read the shirt! What a hunk, huh!?! The saddest part of all of this……. was that during his imaginary playoff game over Christmas, he lost by 1/10th of a point! Lameness!

AND,Oh my gosh I'm cracking up over this t-shirt because my husband has played in the same league for 10 years and he is just as intense. I sat through one of their 8 HOUR drafts once and I'll never do it again. haha.

  2. Hi Brooke! Followed all of your steps to win the new Cameo. If I win I will attempt to make some amazing wall art like the ones you posted on your blog. Truly Amazing!!! Thanks for all of the crafty inspiration…keep up the good work! Happy New Year!!! Oh, and LOVE the football t-shirt…can definitely relate!

  3. oh man i want one of these soooo bad, the first thing i will make with it is thank you cards for all the awesome things my husbands family has done for me recently

  4. My project idea for today is: I would use the SIlhouette to cut out vinyl letter of daughters initials and put them on a headboard I want to make with an antiqued or distressed finish.

  5. I have LOTS of projects to do and a silhouette would be more than handy to help me with them! My first project? Finish the saying on the canvas…that I bought for my son's room last year 🙂

  6. I follow silhouette on pinterest…so many cute ideas! (Sorry about the double Facebook comment…not sure how that happened!) 🙂

  7. If I Won the Silhouette I would start with making some labels to get organized, then I would start making some fun projects.

  11. 10. Return every day and tell me an idea of a project you would make with your Silhouette if you won.

I would create some custom wording for the front of my scrapbook albums to define the year/what is in them

  12. If I won a silhouette… I would be so excited because i have too many things I would want to make. Firstly, I would start with shirts for my niece's birthdays!

  13. I would make my son a birthday shirt using it…so much easier to cut fabric with the Silhouette than printing out numbers/letters and tracing them…then cutting them.

  14. I like and follow you and Silhouette on FB and Pinterest. I hope I win! I asked for this for my upcoming birthday!

Happy New Year! Looking forward to many more crafts this upcoming year!

  19. I want to win it so I can give it to my Sister-in-law Lisa Robbins. She has been telling everyone how cool this machine is and has been trying to sign up for every give away she could possibly find for this machine. Lisa is so kind and every week she does a spotlight for a member in her family where she and her little 3 year old daughter Audrey do something nice for them and send them something that they have made special just for them. She is so thoughtful and I know how much this would mean for her to receive. Thank you for doing these giveaways!

  20. If I won/had a Silhouette machine I would basically use the crap out vinyl! My first project would be to print off some vinyl bicycle stencils and etch glass cups to giveaway to all my bikey friends.

  21. My craft idea of the day is to create monograms stencils and then use the glass etching cream to create custom wine glasses, casserole dishes, trifle bowls…oh the list is endless. 🙂

  27. That shirt you made your husband is tempting as I too have a love/hate relationship with Fantasy Football. I think the first project I would do is put the vinyl lettering that I have been wanting to do above one of my family pictures to add to the wall and picture.

  28. WOW! What a giveaway! The first on my list of projects would be to make a family height chart. We move frequently, so a movable chart would be ideal 🙂

The Silhouette Cameo would be perfect in helping me accomplish this goal and ensuring that what I make is perfect as possible and unique.

  43. with two daughters, the ideas are endless, but first project will be a super dad t-shirt for their dad. Have had the shirt for 2 years, just scared to tackle it 🙂

  44. If I had a Silhouette Cameo I would…
make a cute alphabet hanging in Little Guy's room above his book shelves.
