Blackberry Watermelon Fizz

Blackberry Watermelon Fizz

Hi my friends! It’s Gina from Kleinworth & Co. It is great to be back with you again today! Are you sweating yet? I think in most areas it’s pretty hot now (except here in North Idaho for some strange reason) & people are ready for a cool down. Are you with me? One of the things I love to do when it is sweltering is to toss some fruit & ice in the blender & whip up something delicious. This Blackberry Watermelon Fizz is scrumptious!

I must say, one pitcher was not enough. This recipe made enough to fill 4 large glasses full to the top. The kids were all over it & before I knew it they had finished almost all of it & were requesting more. I barely got a taste before I had to whip up another batch. It is the perfect blend of those sweet blackberries & juicy watermelon. It sounds like it would be an odd flavor combo to some, but I’m here to tell you, it is AMAZING!

I had some Lime Simple Syrup on hand this time which is obviously quite similar to the Lemon Simple Syrup that I almost always have in the fridge. So happy I had it – was a great pairing with watermelon & blackberries. If you don’t have these flavored simple syrups available, you can make your own simple syrup by combining 1 cup water & 1 cup granulated sugar in a saucepan & heat until all the sugar has dissolved. Then mix in 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice – stir & allow to cool before adding to drinks. You can keep this in your refrigerator for a couple months to use in all sorts of drink recipes.

The best part about this (in my opinion) was the addition of the sweet cream. It gave this fizz a great creamy texture that was so smooth. YUUUUM!

This is great for serving at a backyard bbq, pool parties or just chillin’ with the family over the weekend.

Thank you so much for spending some time with me today. See you next time!
