Milk Paint Cabinet

Fancy Farmgirls here!

We just recently scored this unique piece at the thrift store.

I hadn’t a clue what it’s previous life was but rumors are that it most likely housed a radio.

That and a creepy lady!  Do you see her beady eyes staring at us from the left door?!  Definitely painting over that!

 Wood lovers avert your eyes!

We wanted it to keep it’s vintage look so we used Sweet Pickins milk paint found HERE

This gives that perfectly chippy old worn look that is so hard to replicate.

That’s what I’m talking about!

But first things first, you mix the milk paint powder with water and brush it on. Milk paint is a lot more runny than regular paint so it goes on a lot quicker and it’s a product that you can apply without worrying about being too neat and tidy.  My kind of project!

And you get nervous because it doesn’t look so good!  So you brush another coat and then stand back and watch the magic start to happen!

All the peels giving me all the feels!

I love that it’s updated but definitely still reading vintage.

The top had a glued down piece of glass.  To avoid the time and mess of removing we just primed the top and went right over it with the milk paint.  Added a little bit of Christmas with thrift store frames and Christmas ornaments and it fits right in.

Come on over to Fancy Farmgirls and see our Gingham checked Christmas living room!

Can a girl ever have too much gingham?  I think not!

See how we decked out the entire space with gingham check goodness!

Hint:  We have exactly what you need to do the same!

Here’s to hoping this holiday season can be CALM and bright!
