Patriotic-ness around these parts!

Did you have a fun Fourth of July? I can proudly say that the first time in the history of my Motherhood, I remembered to deck out the kids in red, white, and blue. I usually begin that quest on the 3rd of July when all of the stores are picked over here in our smallish city.  But this year was different and I’m quite proud of myself if you can’t tell. My oldest daughter is growing so fast, I can’t even stand it. She is going into Intermediate School next year!!

We went to the parade, hung out with family, had a backyard BBQ, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Even our house is donned with Patriotism! I bought the flags at the dollar store, and I whipped up some tiny white stars with my trusty Silhouette machine. {That way at the end of July, I can take them off}.

I painted the pot with Montana Red Spray Paint. #notanad It had amazing coverage and I was definitely impressed! Usually red spray paints take a ton of coats to cover! But this only took two coats. I bought this brand of spray paint out of pure curiosity, and I’ll be using it more often. Have you ever used it?

Does your family dress up in red, white, and blue? I hope you had a fun and safe holiday weekend!

  1. Your fam is looking good! That pot is super cute too and so easy. That’s my kind of project, especially when it comes to holiday decor that will need to come down.

  2. Adorable. I didn’t dress in patriotic colors, but I did make RED + WHITE + BLUE SHORTBREAD COOKIES {http://myover-allapron.blogspot.com/2014/07/red-white-blue-shortbread-cookies.html}. Those were DELISH!

I’m glad you had a great Fourth; I know I sure did {check out my blog to see the news!}. 🙂

    From your whole food-y!
