Quick Living Room Update Color Switch for less than $600.

I’m addicted to change. I know I’ve confessed, Hi my name is Brooke and I’m a decorating addict. There’s just something about decorating a room.  The “new beginning” I feel when I change something in a room is magic. Change gives it new life!  But, I have to admit, several years ago I found myself constantly unappeased. My husband was getting kinda frustrated with me too to be honest. I would decorate a room and instantly want to change it. So I prayed. I wanted to be content. I wanted to be grateful for what we had and to LOVE my home again. I begged Heavenly Father to help me. I didn’t want to feel like a gerbil on a running cart anymore.

Those of you who are long-time readers of ATT know that I haven’t changed my living room for awhile now! Hindsight is 20/20, but I could not believe that it had been so long since I made a big change. Time has flown past, and I know God helped me to feel comfortable in my home for the last two and a half years. Can you believe I decorated the living room with Green and Coral living room that long ago!?!  I feel like I should have a drum beat at the end of that! But, the best part is that I didn’t even WANT to change it until a few weeks ago. I was completely content. Truly and authentically content.

It felt weird to feel the NEED to change a room in comparison to the former forever WANT to change it. After that long, the light rug was starting to look dingy and cleaning it was no longer effective. It was severely stained after that long {hello I have four kids}, so it was time to switch some things out. I am very proud to say that I spent less than $600 for this entire update!

Coral and Green Living Room Decor (4 of 35)

I ordered the rug {Fergana UZB72 Hand Hooked Imperial Medallion Floral Rug} on Rugs USA, added an awesome Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree from Home Depot, and went to Target for a few pillows and artwork.

Sidenote: I love that Sugar our ShihTzu is hanging out in both pictures! Can you spy her in the picture below? She’s kinda camouflaged!

I’m absolutely loving the curtains! I bought the fabric in 2012! Check out my excitement when I posted about the fabric five years ago in THIS post.

  1. Fun update! We just replaced the rug in our living room after 4 years and it feels like a whole new room! I got ours from Rugs USA too. I really want to hang a plant our living room after seeing yours in the corner!

  2. Hey Brooke. Love your new look. It’s amazing. What’s the name of the blue paint color? I’m looking for a blue/gray for my daughters bedroom.
