Farmhouse Living Room Makeover Reveal

Hello!  Fancy Farmgirls here.

Let’s start off with a bang.

BEFORE

AFTER!

And all I had to do was cry! πŸ˜‰

My husband and I have spent a lot of years living in compromise with decorating.  The thing is…. I want my way!

We had finally replaced our fifteen year old carpet and I was ready for a change.  We started the compromise talk which always ends with neither of us being happy with the end result and I was trying to explain how much my surroundings affect me and I got a little teary eyed and he gave up after all these years and said I could have my way!

So, I did!  Light and bright was the goal and I’m having so much fun being a spoiled brat and getting my way!

It started with bidding a VERY overdue farewell to color of the year 2001 “Crisp Khaki”.

Walls went “Edgecomb Gray” which is a perfect griege color.

I painted right over the existing fireplace tiles for a quick inexpensive update.

The built ins received a rustic dose of personality with Plankwise peel and stick “Restoration white” wall planks.  And it’s as easy as that.  Literally peel and stick the real hardwood to the wall for immediate wall planks!

Love them!

I had sliding barn doors made by Boise furniture builder Sawyer Design.

He was genius enough to design the hardware using wheels used on garage doors which meant money saved.

Battery operated twinkle lights placed inside a jar to add a little magic.

I’m falling in love with my home and it’s feeling like “me”.  And my husband admits he’s happy as well. πŸ™‚

    1. Just primed them with Bulls eye primer and then used left over kitchen cabinet paint. They’re holding up great!

  1. Men… They really should just accept that we are awesome and go with what we say, why let us go thru the tears? LOL
It looks beautiful, congrats on your triumph πŸ™‚

  2. It’s so gorgeous!!! Love everything. Can you give me the source for the amazing floor lamp? Great job!!!
